Professor Gill Straker will facilitate this important discussion.
What defines what we do? What is and isn't psychoanalytic psychotherapy? What are the essential elements? How do we explain it to our patients?
Gill Straker is a Clinical Professor (Psychiatry University of Sydney), a visiting Research Professor (Psychology University of Witwatersrand) and a Mellon Foundation Distinguished Scholar. She is a practicing Lacanian analyst and has published papers on continuous traumatic stress, child abuse, self-harm and racism. Her book entitled Faces in the Revolution focuses on resilience in the face of adversity.
